Selection And Use Of Metal Circular Saw Blades

1. Selection of diameter

The diameter of the saw blade is related to the sawing equipment used and the size of the workpiece being cut. The diameter of the saw blade is small, and the cutting speed is relatively low; the diameter of the saw blade is high, and the requirements for the saw blade and sawing equipment are high, and the sawing efficiency is also high. The outer diameter of the saw blade should be selected according to different circular saw machine models. Use a saw blade with a consistent diameter.

2. Choice of thickness

The thickness of the saw blade: In theory, we hope that the saw blade should be as thin as possible. The saw kerf is actually a consumption. The outer diameter of the saw blade and the material being cut determine the thickness of the saw blade. If the thickness is too thin, the saw blade will easily sway during operation, affecting the cutting effect. When choosing the thickness of the saw blade, you should consider the stability of the saw blade and the material being cut. Some materials for special purposes also require specific thicknesses and should be used according to the requirements of the equipment, such as grooving saw blades, etc.

3. Selection of aperture

Aperture is a relatively simple parameter, which is mainly selected according to the requirements of the equipment. The current standard aperture designed in China is 32MM, and some imported equipment also has 25.4MM holes. Regardless of the size of the hole, it can be modified through a lathe or wire cutting machine. The lathe can turn washers into the large hole, and the wire cutting machine can expand the hole to meet the requirements of the equipment.

4. Selection of number of teeth

The number of teeth of the saw teeth. Generally speaking, the greater the number of teeth, the more edges can be cut per unit time and the better the cutting performance. However, if the saw teeth are too dense, the chip capacity between the teeth will become smaller, which can easily cause the saw blade to heat up; in addition, there are too many saw teeth. , when the feed amount is not properly matched, the cutting amount per tooth will be very small, which will intensify the friction between the cutting edge and the workpiece and affect the service life of the cutting edge. If the saw teeth are too thin, the distance between the teeth will be large, and the impact between the cutting edge and the workpiece will be large, which will cause the saw blade to jump and affect the service life of the blade. A reasonable number of teeth should be selected according to the material being sawed.

5. Selection of tooth shape

The tooth shapes include angular teeth, curved back teeth, left and right teeth (alternating chamfering), high and low teeth, and rare combination teeth. Combination teeth are a combination of two tooth shapes, and grinding is more complicated. The most used ones are the left and right teeth.

6. Selection of sawtooth angle

The angle parameters of the sawtooth part are relatively complex, and the correct selection of the angle parameters of the sawtooth is the key to determining the quality of sawing. The main angle parameters are front angle and rear angle. The rake angle is the cutting angle of the saw teeth. The rake angle mainly affects the force consumed in sawing the material. The larger the rake angle, the better the cutting sharpness of the saw teeth, the lighter the cutting, and the less labor-intensive the cutting. Generally, when the material to be processed is soft, choose a larger rake angle, otherwise choose a smaller rake angle. The relief angle is the angle between the saw teeth and the machined surface. Its function is to prevent friction between the saw teeth and the machined surface. The larger the relief angle, the smaller the friction and the smoother the cut. The chamfer cannot be too small, it plays a role in maintaining the durability and heat dissipation of the tooth. The angle of the saw teeth is the position of the saw teeth during cutting, and the angle of the saw teeth affects the cutting performance.

7. A series of parameters such as the diameter, thickness, aperture, number of teeth, tooth shape, angle, etc. of the saw blade are combined to form the whole saw blade. It must be reasonably selected and matched to better exert its performance.
